Privacy notice

Who we are

Prison Rankings is an independent project run by a private individual. Contact: contact@prisonrankings.com.

What we collect

If you only browse: nothing that identifies you. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no advertising or tracking cookies. The site uses Ahrefs Web Analytics (a cookie-free service) to count visits, and Cloudflare, which hosts the site, keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.

If you email us (for example to ask for a correction, or to send a statement on behalf of a prison): we keep your message and your contact details so we can respond and keep a record of any correction we make.

What we publish

Only official public data about prisons. A prison's own statement, if it sends one, is published unedited (see corrections). We don't publish anything about individual members of the public, or about individual prisoners or members of staff.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, or to delete it, by emailing the address above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
